Door-type dishwashers are also commonly known as "pass-through" dishwashers because you can pass the rack through them. Other door-type dishwashers require you to put the rack in and take it out of the same entryway, so they are not considered "pass-through." Typically, door-type dishwashers are larger and more powerful alternatives to undercounter dishwashers.
When selecting a door-type dishwasher, it is important to consider the interior clearance, as this determines the maximum height of items you can load into the dishwasher. In this category, we offer both pot and pan washers and regular dishwashers, all capable of washing a single rack at a time. These dishwashers feature counterbalanced lift-up doors that open simultaneously, allowing you to load one rack while pushing out the previous rack.
These machines are designed for pass-through operation, but some can be configured to work in a corner setup. In this configuration, the rack would go in the front of the machine and come out either the left or right side, depending on the installation.
Door-type dishwashers are available in low-temperature and high-temperature varieties. Low-temperature models use chemicals instead of extra heat to clean dishes, requiring restocking of these chemicals as they are used. They may need to run a second cycle for particularly greasy dishes. High-temperature dishwashers, on the other hand, use hot water around 180° to 195° Fahrenheit. While they are a bit more expensive, they excel at cleaning grease and do not require chemical replacements. It's beneficial to check if the model comes with a booster heater, which ensures the water reaches the necessary high temperatures.
Pot and pan washers are especially useful in bakeries and any foodservice establishment needing to clean pots and pans regularly. These washers feature powerful spray jets that effectively clean pots, pans, and utensils, even those with the stickiest foods. They have large interior clearances to accommodate tall items, and the jets are usually positioned a few inches above the clearance, allowing for slightly taller items to be cleaned as well.
